What is KruGlu?
KruGlu makes it easy to keep your group in sync by using our unique reply-all text messaging service - whenever you want, wherever you want.

What is a Keyword (group name)?
A keyword is a unique short word that enables everyone in the group to send KruGlu text messages or to join your KruGlu group. Keywords are 4-10 characters and cannot start with a number or have spaces. Let's just say a keyword is basically, well, your group name.
How long can a text message be?
A standard text message is limited to 160 characters. Characters means letters, numbers, spaces, symbols and punctuation.
How do I send a text message to the group if I'm only in one group?
Send a text message to 1-650-931-7011 just like you would send a text message to any of your friends.
How do I send a text message to a group if I'm in multiple groups?
If you are in more than one KruGlu group, you will need to start your message with the group name and then follow that with your message. For example, if you want to send a message to one of your groups named MYGROUP, then you will type a message that will look something like:
mygroup Let's all meet for coffee at 9am instead of 8am
What is a nick name?
A nick name is the name used by KruGlu in text messages to identify the sender of the message. Nicknames have to be 3 or more characters (letters, numbers, or underscore '_') and cannot contain spaces (NO spaces).
What number do I store for KruGlu?
We recommend you store 1-650-931-7011 as KruGlu in your phone's contact list.
What are KruGlu phone short cuts?
KruGlu short cuts are simple commands which enable you to modify your KruGlu account without the use of an internet connection or our Web UI.
How do I invite a friend or contact to a group?
As group administrator go to MyGroups->Your Group->Invite. Text the invitation code to your contact and have them text that code to 1-650-931-7011 to join.
How do I join a group?
Your group administrator will send you an invitation code and the KruGlu phone number. Once you have received the invitation code, create a text message that contains ONLY that code, and send it to the KruGlu phone number: 1-650-931-7011.
How do I leave (or unsubcribe from) a KruGlu group?
You can leave a group anytime by using the KruGlu phone short cut: !leave. If you are a member of more than one group, you must specify the group name to leave the group. That means, you would send a text message something like: !leave mygroup

How do I set or change my nick name?

What does it look like when I receive a text message?
Text messages sent using the KruGlu service consist of three main pieces: the GROUP NAME, the NICK NAME, and the MESSAGE. If you are a member of a group called MYGROUP group and LIVS sends you all the message, "Let's all meet for coffee at 9am instead of 8am", on your phone it will look something like this:
mygroup (livs): Let's all meet for coffee at 9am instead of 8am
Will I get charged for sending and receiving messages to KruGlu?
Standard text messaging rates do apply with your mobile carrier. If you send or receive messages frequently using KruGlu, we recommend that you upgrade your plan to an unlimited text messaging plan with your mobile phone provider.
